Help support the Kids in Clinton
I have posted before that I want to open an indoor skate park with a dance floor, game room, cafe and hang out area and the Kids in Clinton, MA need your support to help make this happen. Recently there was a town warrant to stop kids from skateboarding, roller blading and scootering on town property. Luckily it didn't pass but it didn't solve the problem either. Kids in Clinton have no where to go so they resort to hanging around town, drinking and doing drugs. I want to change that and give them a safe constructive place to skate, hang out and be kids. Currently we have an amateur skate video contest on our website, send us your best trick with a Vertigo skateboard and win free decks!
Entering the contest is very easy, just need to record a video doing your best trick with a skateboard Vertigo. When you recorded your video send it by email to info@vertigo-skateboards.com and we'll post it on our official Youtube channel for other community members can vote. The video that gets the most votes submitted on Vertigo Youtube Channel will win 2 Vertigo skateboards and will remain in our Youtube channel as winner of the contest.
The contest begins on March 1, 2010 and ending on 31 May 2010 midnight PST.

Dato Skateboards/Clothing now at NewEnglandSkate!
Dato Clothing was created by two friends in New Jersey.
Dato started off by printing one T-shirt with the name Dato on the front, and it grew into original designs produced by a number of talented artists. Dato focused on the artwork, instead of just having their company name plastered all over clothing. This company has a passion for music, skateboarding, snowboarding, and other alternative lifestyles that make up their vision and style.
Dato's mindset remains the same as times chage – "to have fun and to stay mentally young." They set there goals to bring you something original rather than something mainstream and corporate. To stay in line with this philosophy they try to limit their designs and color combinations. This keeps Dato Clothing's product fresh so the clothing line does not become stale. Right now NewEnglandSkate is hookin up with Dato Skateboards/Clothing to bring you a Fly new style!

Ultimate Boarder Competition - Happening Now!
This event was created to see which two athletes can master the Art of Surfing, Skateboarding and Snowboarding. The Ultimate Boarder Competition is host to 90 athletes competing for the Ultimate goal... to master the are of all three sports.
Here is the breakdown on the happenings:
MTV2 is featuring Rock NJock Countdown, on tour with Alli. They will be doing three shown on the 3rd Annual Ultimate Boarder Championship starting Saturday April 17th.
The show will air in three parts:
First: Airing on April 17th The show will feature highlights from the Stage one Surfing Comp.
Second: Airing on April 24th The show will follow the Stage 2 Snowboarding.
Third: Airing on May 1 The show will follow the Stage 3 Skateboarding.
Show times: Saturday 11:00 Am EST and the following Tuesday April 20th at 2:30 PM EST. on MTV2.

I have a vision for the future. I plan to open my own indoor skatepark. My vision is to give skaters a cool place to hang and skateboard anytime! Trip to Boston
Just wanted to give a shout out and say that I was in Boston today visiting my Nephew and he has a really hip blog called Boston by the Pint. Skateboard Competitions 2010
Coming up in 2010 starting in March are some skateboard competitions that we thought you may want to know about!
First off is the Central Valley AM Jam!
The Central Valley AM JAM is a series of four contests beginning with a kick off party and comp in Atwater March 13, 2010. Then the series starts in Riverbank, Ca on April 17th, 2010, then continuing onto Tracy, Ca on May 15th 2010. The next stop is Ripon, Ca on June 19, 2010 and then last but not least Ceres, Ca. on July 17, 2010. Prizes are provided by sponsoring board shops as well as participating sponsors.
At each stop the 5 five age groups 9 and under, 10-12, 13-15, 16-17, and 18+. Each contest runs from 10 AM to 4 PM, costs $15 to enter, and helmets are required. Each first place skater in each division will qualify for a chance to skate in the Maloof Money Cup amature street competition.
Next is the Central Coast Monster Skate Contest!
The Monster Skate Contest is an amateur skate competition series held throughout San Luis Obispo County in California. This is a six-contest series, starting on March 27th 2010 in Atascadero, and continuing over the next two months. The contest has a $15 entry fee, and you need to be wearing appropriate safety gear.
The series ends in May, with the following events:
MAY 8 at Grover Beach
MAY 22 at San Luis Obispo
MAY 29 at Los Osos
Don't forget to try and Stop by the ProTec Pool Party!
This year's Pro Tec Pool Party is May 20 & 21, 2010. It will be at the Vans Skatepark, The Block, California. It will feature Men's, Ladies and Master's Pro Bowl contests.
Please try to make this event for a good cause: Grind for Life!
Grind For Life is an organization that helps people with cancer, especially those who travel long distances to treatments. Grind For Life holds a series of 3 contests - May 22nd 2010 will see a contest at the Naples Skate Park in Naples, Florida. This is a street contest. Call (239) 213-3027 for more into.
Grind For Life was founded in 2003 by life-long skateboarder Mike Rogers, after his second battle with sarcoma cancer. The mission of the Grind For Life organization is to provide financial assistance to cancer patients and their families when traveling long distances to doctors and hospitals. In addition, we educate and inspire these patients and families concerning cancer survival and recovery.
We will keep you up to date as more contests come up!

Revolution Skateboards
Through the month of January NewEnglandSkate is featuring Revolution Skateboards. We hooked up with Rev Decks after meeting Alex Azzi who is sponsored by Rev.
